Him: I know everybody says this but he needs to have a big, Fassbender like __________ , sense of humour, confidence is important too and being a part-time massage therapist (a girl can dream). So call or facebook me (yes, that’s my actual page) if you can find or be that date… (1850 374 643).
White Rabbit, Red Rabbit
Nassim Soleimanpour [Iran]
Sep 11 – 15 & 18 – 22 @ 13:00
Duration 60 mins
Tickets €10/€8 Conc.
White Rabbit, Red Rabbit will see some of the biggest names in Irish Theatre take a leap of faith performing from a script they have never seen before. ‘I was born on Azar 19th, 1360 in Tehran. That’s Tehran, December 10th, 1981 in Christian years…’ Imagine being 29 and forbidden to leave your country. Nassim Soleimanpour dissects the experience of a whole generation in a wild, utterly original play from Iran. Forbidden to travel, he turns his isolation to his own advantage with a play that requires no director, no set and a different actor for every performance.

Adventures of a Music Nerd: 1 Guy, 2 World Cups
Corksongs [Ireland]
Sep 11 – 15 @ 20:00
Duration 55 mins
Tickets €12/€10 Conc.
Matinée Sep 15 @ 15:30
A loving ramble through the many World Cup songs that came out for Italia ’90 (the one our Bearded Hero remembers Ireland winning) and USA ’94 (the one we didn’t). Finding fun in the songs, not making fun of them. This isn’t a show about soccer or even sport in general, it’s more about a guy who possibly puts too much effort into listening to music and how that magical era and its songs stick in his head. An uncynical piece by someone who is trying to transcend the jaded 2012 blues and tap back into the good days again.

By Bush Moukarzel after Marcel Proust with Theodor Adorno, Walter Benjamin, T S Eliot, Charlie Kaufman and Orson Welles “It’s human to seek out what hurts us” — Marcel Proust. I’m afraid the news is not good. You have a serious case of Life. It’s terminal. As far as we know, no one survives Life. But wait. I’ve something to show you. Be a spectator in your own absence. Borrowing from a whole range of sources and disciplines, the performance incorporates illusions and lyricism … like a chance meeting between Houdini and David Lynch. Praise for Bush Moukarzel: “excellent” — The Irish Times
