This production of Dario Fo’s classic satire is a new translation by Men Behaving Badly writer, Simon Nye.
Patrick O’Donnell plays the Maniac who exposes the cover-up of the murder of an alleged Anarchist accused of bombing a bank. In this riot paced, explosive satire, the Maniac assumes various disguises and unravels the systemic corruption and collusion between cops, judiciary, Government, the media and in line with one of Dario Fo’s regular targets, The Church.
“You see, your average citizen doesn’t want the dirt and injustice to go away. He’s just happy to see it exposed, let’s all have a jolly scandal, and everyone gets something to talk about. That for him, is what Freedom means in all the best possible worlds. Hallelujah!!” – The Maniac.
This production features Patrick O’ Donnell, Paul Kealyn, Neill Fleming, Dagmar Döring, and Paul Elliot.
