Currently starring as Des O’Malley in RTE1’s critically acclaimed Charlie, Marcus Lamb takes to the stage as the unnamed drifter in Samuel Beckett’s darkly funny tale. Bleak and brilliant humour abounds as he relates his various encounters, seeking shelter and a place to meet his end. This exquisitely written prose piece reveals the ‘unlikely humour of full blown existential sadness’.
Written in French in 1946, translated into English by Beckett and Richard Seaver.

Reviews
“The true star of this evening is undoubtedly Marcus Lamb, who performed Beckett’s exquisite prose piece, The End. Lamb engages the audience from the start, treading carefully through the dialogue and language structure to deliver something that remains faithful to the Beckettian style, while still appearing to be natural and organic. The coupling of darkness and comedy here is balanced perfectly.”
