Nabil Al Raee artistic director of The Freedom Theatre in Jenin refugee camp, Palestine comes to The New Theatre Dublin to give a presentation about the theatre’s work creating theatre while under severe limitations by the Israeli occupation.
Nabil will discuss the ongoing occupation and how it affects artists living in Palestine and the huge importance of this work to the local community – how it gives voice to the oppressed and how it provides a vital creative outlet for residents of the camp.
Nabil will be joined by Ahmad Tobasi and actor with the company and resident of Jenin camp.
Neili Conroy a professional Dublin based actor who has also visited and worked in The Freedom Theatre will chair the event.
