Back to events

A woman wakes after a boozy night out to find her infant child dead in its cot. The fallout is devastating. Her marriage ends. She is overwhelmed with guilt. What kind of mother must God have her marked down as.. Didn’t she abandon her baby? Isn’t that what happened in the, mother and baby, homes? Has God painted her with the same brush? But didn’t her own mother, through alzheimers abandon her? And didn’t she in turn abandon her own mother by sticking her in a home? The mental torture and guilt conjures up a character from the mother and baby homes. And it’s through this character, Gas Ticket, that relief and great fun is found.

SELFIE, is a one woman play about abandonment, loss and yearning. And the titanic struggle to try to come to terms with those issues.
