The LYCS Community Drama Group are delighted to announce the first performances of their new play: Threads is set in the North East Inner City of Dublin.
Primarily located in and around a failing local café, we follow a group of characters who seem, on the surface, to be very different. A funeral, and a money lender’s loan taken out to pay for it, form the core of the play. Each character uncover the threads that connect us all.
Darkly comic, the wordplay are reminders of the pressing challenges that face our society – both locally and globally.
Funded by Irish Aid, Threads has been written by LYCS participants as a Global Citizenship Education Project. It is wholly their production.
This is a performance reading, rather than a staged play, which means the cast will have scripts in hand. We intend to record this production as a radio play in the near future and post on our website www.lycs.ie
