A rehearsed reading of new play.

‘If the Children of Lir came back from their travels I’d look them in the eye – whether they were swans or humans and tell it to them straight. Go back. Leave this place. There is nothing for you here’.

New Year’s Eve in the Irish Midlands. Two friends; Jelly and Redders sit on the roof of a house that hides a secret. They have come here to execute the pact they made; walk off the house as a new year rolls in.
Together they gorge on their last supper which consists of a bizarre and supernatural concoction of sweets, fizzy drinks and a mysterious dark chocolate.
Abe, the occupant of the house confronts them aggressively from below. He provokes and challenges them, angered by their trespassing and secretive about a suspicious sound that is coming from inside the house.
When the time comes to jump, one of the two pulls out of the pact at the last second, leaving the other to plummet to the ground. They survive the impact, just about, and what follows is a series of lies, manipulation and confrontation as the three characters try to figure out how to move forward and move on.
