The New Theatre is pleased to announce a new addition to our team. Pamela McQueen is our New Play Dramaturg effective immediately working on our own new productions and new play development programs.

The New Theatre has been a home for new drama in recent years. We are planning to build on our resource supports with an exciting expansion of script and craft development opportunities for playwrights.

Pamela has most recently worked as adaptation dramaturg on ‘Jimmy’s Hall’ for the Abbey Theatre. She is also development dramaturg on new plays with Melissa Nolan for Speckintime Theatre Company, Katie O’Kelly for Belltable and Iseult Golden with The Pavilion Theatre in the independent sector.

Previously Pamela has been Associate Dramaturg with the Tron Theatre, Glasgow for five years. She was development dramaturg with Hi-Arts, Eden Court Theatre, Inverness for three years. Pamela was dramaturg for Stef Smith & Cora Bissett’s Fringe First & Olivier award winning Roadkill. Pamela holds a Masters in Dramaturgy and Playwriting from the University of Glasgow. Her writing about theatre appears in the International Journal of Stage and Screen Scotland and Immersive Theatre Engaging the Audience. Pamela has been awarded Arts Council and Dublin City Council grants for her work. She is co-chair with Hanna Slattne of the Dramaturgs Network Ireland.
